PRC-029-2 Implementation Support

Project management for PRC-029-2 corrective actions in the field, from implementation plan to exemption documentation.

About this module

What this module covers.

We provide project management support to help you execute PRC-029-2 corrective actions in the field, coordinate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), gather compliance evidence and documentation, update your PRC-029-2 compliance reports, and prepare exemption documentation.

We coordinate with your departments, OEMs, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and integration vendors, and other stakeholders as necessary to resolve implementation questions and to verify that the installed and configured corrective actions meet the requirements. This scope is performed remotely unless on-site presence is pre-authorized.

Support services

What GridStrong does inside this module.

  • Support runs from project kickoff to final completion of PRC-029-2 corrective action implementation, based on the compliance report findings and recommendations and the compliance deadline for each applicable site (set per site with you).
  • The timeline depends heavily on OEM, protection, EPC and other third-party procurement and execution at each site by you; we support throughout.
  • All compliance documentation and evidence is compiled, uploaded to the GridStrong Dashboard, and provided to you after the field implementation, documentation updates and exemption documentation are complete.
  • Some sites may run in parallel, others sequentially; we work with you to create an agreed project execution timeline for all applicable sites.

Final deliverables

  • Plant-specific implementation plan (schedule, milestones, outage windows, and responsibilities).
  • Corrective actions needed to meet PRC-029-2 compliance obligations identified in the compliance assessment reports.
  • Coordination with OEMs, protection engineering, and other third-party firms to orchestrate settings changes and design considerations for changes to be made in the field.
  • Updated PRC-029-2 compliance reports with post-modification settings changes to demonstrate compliance or illustrate any hardware-based limitations.
  • Retention and tracking of compliance evidence and documentation, uploaded to the GridStrong Dashboard.
  • Compiled R4 exemption documentation, in coordination with OEMs and service providers, in preparation for submittal to the Compliance Enforcement Authority.
  • Agreed project execution timeline for all applicable sites.

What we need from you

  • PRC-029-2 compliance report findings and recommendations for each plant.
  • OEM, protection and EPC corrective-action documentation.
  • As-left settings and configuration records for the installed corrective actions.

Assumptions and considerations

How the scope is bounded.

  • Out of scope: procurement of equipment, field installation labor, settings or equipment modifications, or fabrication (performed by you or your contractors).
  • Out of scope: protection settings engineering, relay coordination studies, or changes to protective functions unrelated to ride-through performance.
  • Out of scope: design or implementation of plant communications networks beyond providing requirements and reviewing vendor-proposed approaches.
  • Out of scope: preparation or submission of any regulatory filings on your letterhead; you remain responsible for final compliance submissions and attestations.
