About the role
What this role is for.
Forward Deployed Operations is where GridStrong becomes part of the customer. Once embedded, we own the customer's plant information and workstreams, run their compliance and modeling programs on the Dashboard, and route every study they need to the Power Systems Team instead of their previous consultants. Each embedded account has to feel like an extension of the customer's own team while running on one standard process, so that every plant added costs less to serve than the last.
You will run delivery across all embedded accounts and be the escalation point below the VP. You own the delivery standard, the operating cadence inside each account, the Senior Managers who hold portfolios of accounts, and the handoffs into Power Systems and Compliance Services.

Location: Remote, United States or Canada
Works with: The VP of Forward Deployed Operations, the Senior Managers and Forward Deployed Managers, the Director of Compliance, the VP of Power Systems, Client Success, and the compliance, operations and asset management leadership at embedded customers.
What you will do
- Own delivery across every embedded account: scope, cadence, quality, customer satisfaction and the escalation path.
- Set the standard operating process for embedded engagements: readiness cycles, plant onboarding, evidence management, operator notice handling and reporting to the customer's leadership.
- Lead the Senior Managers of Forward Deployed Operations and the Forward Deployed Managers assigned to embedded accounts.
- Route every study the customer needs to Power Systems and track studies routed as a primary measure of the team.
- Run expansion inside embedded accounts: new plants, new departments and new workstreams, together with Client Success on contracting.
- Hold account economics: plants under management, cost to serve per plant and the margin of each engagement.
- Surface what the Dashboard must do next to serve embedded customers and push it to Engineering with context.
What we are looking for
- Ten or more years in delivery or operations leadership in energy, utilities, compliance services or technical consulting, with direct responsibility for embedded or managed-service accounts.
- Working knowledge of NERC compliance operations for generation owners: PRC, MOD and the evidence and audit cycle.
- Experience leading managers who lead others.
- Experience owning account economics and reporting them to executives.
- Comfortable in the customer's building and in their Slack and Teams channels as one of their own.
- Clear, calm communicator under customer pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience at a generation owner's compliance, operations or asset management function.
- Experience with GRC platforms and their replacement.
- Experience in a company that sells software and services together.
The first 90 days
- You have met the leadership at every embedded account and own the delivery calendar and escalation list.
- The embedded delivery standard is written and in use.
- Studies routed to Power Systems from embedded accounts are tracked and reported monthly.
- The first Senior Manager portfolio is defined.
